Very noob to this so hope someone can help ...

I want to change the ip address of my home pc which runs through the above router.

I've looked around and thought I'd found how to do it in the following youtube vid

unfortunately, that doesnt work for me ... I have to reset my router, turn everythin off and on reboot etc ... before my ip changes.

Anyone tell me how to do it?

Router is about 2 months old, i'm running xp and have virgin media broadband.

you mean the WAN IP address or the LAN IP?

WAN IP is set from VM by way of your MAC Address. the only way use the clone mac address feature, once this is done on the router you will then need to reboot your cablemodem first. then reboot the router. this then picks up a new WAN IP.

unless your trying to hide your ID from a web service on the net there is no point in changing IP addresses on VM's cable service as you are still connectect to the same UBR due to the cablemodems mac address and VM's setup. VM still know who you are.

    LAN IP I presume.

So, static DHCP is what you need to know. Insert the MAC adress of each computer and an IP adress for the same machine. That's all.
