Not secured over the Internet?

Why is the NSLU2 not secured to access over the Internet? Sure, a user can change his password in the GUI, but that user has to know the username, right?

Also, what is this other complaint that the device does not support FTP . What does FTP offer that is better than the HTTP?

One more thing: am I correct that a user cannot upload files into the NSLU2 from the Internet using HTTP? Is this what the complaint about the absense of FTP support is all about? I hate it when reviewers say that the disadvantage of this and this device is it does not support this and that, but does not elaborate WHY it is a disadvantage.
