Not sure which to get: WAG54GS or WAG54G/WAG200G

Hope someone can give me some pointers about this two models.

Q1. I'm not sure how much "speedboost" the GS model + compatible network adaptor can give me, but how good is the speed enhancement (use within single floor)?

Q2. Which version of the two models would I general get from retail stores in UK or Amazon.co.uk if I buy it now?

Q3. Which version of the two models is not a cost-down version?

Q4. Does any 3rd-party firmware works with these two model? Is there any specific version that I should get for these two models if I want to use 3rd-party firmware?

    Thanks

    Thank you HiSpeed

I've read through the hardware spec. Too bad WAG54GX2 is discontinued, which have more RAM and Flash.

So it seemed the main difference between G and GS models are the CPU processors/speed and with/without speedboost.

Has anyone successfully install 3rd-part firmware on WAG54GS? I know WAG200G does have one that works.

Would anyone recommend using a WAG model or a WRT54GL + external modem?

NB - WAG200G = Ti AR7 Chipset, WAG54GS = Broadcom. I don't think there will ever be as much 3rd party support for ADSL routers as there is for Ethernet only devices - unless something like the neufbox NB4 (only available in France) catches on.

WRT 54GL (+ third party firmware) + modem is a little bit more expensive but much better !

I'm going to order a WRT54GL from Amazon.co.uk. I'll use my old ADSL modem first.

I'll save a bit more to get a Linksys ADSL modem later
