    Hi there,

I have a NSLU (2.3r25) with 2 disks attached. My Disk 1 is running perfectly without any problem. I started out with only one disk attached and I wanted to expand my disk space by attaching a second disk on the DISK 2 USB port. After formatting I can perfectly access the disk and copy stuff on it. When I reboot the NLSU it will lose the configuration and says that Disk 2 is "unknown". All data is lost. I tried two different Hard Drives, so it can't be that.

    Any ideas or suggestions...?????

I also had this same problem (along with many others). It seems that the NSLU2 device is a little picky when it comes to the chipsets used in different USB enclosures. Changing USB enlcosures for me fix the problem completely.

There is a database of devices which work (and don't work) with the NSLU2 over at:

I joined this group also and found helpful information. Hope this helps. Good luck.
