Just wanted to make a quick post to say that the NSLU2 and Patriot XPorter XT 32GB USB flash drive works great. The stock firmware still considers it a flash drive, so it won't format it to the EXT3 format. I re-installed the latest Unslung binary and it formats it perfectly.

    Hello LordFlux,

I'm unfamiliar with Unslung but I'm seeking the solution to format a Flash drive with Ext3 because FAT32 is terrible slow for my purposes (I have 1800 files in a folder, this is impossible with FAT32, so I attached again my 1.8" 30 GB hard drive that does not draw too much current like 2.5" drives).

Therefore my question: can I attach a Flash drive using Unslung and format it with Ext3? On which port? What minimal size of the Flash drive is needed?

    Thank you in advance,
    best regards

Unslung can format and use a 1GB usb flash drive (been there done that) but guess the limit is quite a bit smaller.
