NSLU2 crashes wireless network

    My setup is:
    - NSLU2 (firmware V2.3R63)
    - with a 400Gb (linux formatted) Freecom USB drive
    - D Link D 524 wireless router
    - Basic Virgin cable moden (Scientific Atlantic)
    - Acer Aspire 5100 laptop installed with Vista.

    My problem is twofold:

Firstly the tranfer speed seems very slow (max 1.5mb per sec) is this normal or can it be improved?

Secondly, and more importantly, after a few minutes tranfer my laptop becomes disconnected from the network and I have to reset the router to be able to reconnect. I can see the wireless network but am unable to reconnect. This only ever happens when Im using the NSLU2.

Occasionally it even gives me a BSOD, says somthing about a memory dump, then reboots the computer!

Any ideas or suggestions would be gratfully received

For your first problem, the 1.5mb speed, it is normal for a 54Mbit connection.

For the second one, it just seems you have problems with your laptop configuration.
Things coming to my mind is to check the driver version, check the firmware of your router and eventually check your event viewer to see if there are any errors logged in System and Application.

Personally, I do transfer a lot of files via wireless to my NSLU2 and never had a problem.

    Hope this helps.
