    i need some help....

my friend has ntlworld broadband. obviously ntl supplies their own modem cos they use a cable connection. anyways my friend has just bought a wireless router - Linksys WAG354G. he wants to connect the modem to the router. how does he do this?

I'm afraid your friend has bought the wrong box - thats an ADSL modem/router for use with broadband via a BT phone line. The ntl cable modem has an Ethernet port (and a USB port which is best left alone) and he should have bought a WRT54G (for example) which has an Ethernet WAN port.

I guess you have found the router will work as a switch/hub but won't act as a router to share the connection?
