ntpd for wrt54g?

I'm running ntpd on Asus RT-N66U and RT-N16 routers via entware, and would like to run ntpd on a WRT54G as well.

Unfortunately, entware only supports K26 routers and the WRT54G is K24. Does anyone know of an ntpd package that will run on WRT54G?

Alternatively, is there a good guide on cross-compiling open-source apps for K24 mips?

    Thanks!

Hi! Yes, there is pretty good HOW-TO's for Optware:
As for using cross-compilation toolchain, I was writing How-to's for optware toolchain years ago, but it's in Russian, unfortunately.

I think most easiest way to build ntpd wiil be a native optware compilation.

    Thanks for the response.

Does Optware run on K24 MIPS R1?

Entware does not (I know this because I already have a working Entware deployment for my K26 MIPS R2 routers, and its apps silently fail to execute on my WRT54G).

At least it was (long time ago:)).

It's definitely MIPS R1 and it's based on k24. This relics was the main reason I started Entware.

Got ntpd running on my WRT54G by installing OpenWRT and using its built in package manager to install NTP packages to jffs.

OpenWRT actually ships with a BusyBox implementation of ntpd, but I couldn't get that one to accept incoming connections from LAN peers.
