Odd VPN connection problems

    Hey,

I used to use Tomato on my home network cause it sorted out a load of VPN problems I had with the Linksys firmware. I now have a strange VPN issue with a WRT54GS v1.1 in work so I installed Tomato hoping that it would fix it but no luck.

Basically, a machine on the LAN can connect to one remote PPTP MS-CHAP V2 VPN (??) but not to another (D-Link DFL-800). This is the case even when I change the non-working VPN to be reachable at the same IP address as the working one. If the VPN server is on the LAN I can connect and if I move the cable from the WAN port of the WRT54GS and put it directly into the client PC, I can connect, so it can only be the WRT54GS really.

I have done WireShark traces of a working and not working connection and it seems that the router is blocking the PPP LCP "Configuration Response" packets coming back. I don't understand how I can connect to one MS-CHAP v2 PPTP VPN and not another.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Kevin
