Odd Wi-Fi Connection Problem.

I have three WRT54G routers, two 4s and one 1.1.
One 4 and the 1.1 are at home in WDS(?). The 4 is connected to the cable modem.
All on 1.25 but the problem has been around much longer.

At home I can connect a laptop or phone simply by searching for the SSID and entering the 63bit ASCII key.

At work I can not do that, also a 63 ASCII key.
I've compared settings and there the same except for WDS.

I found that if I set up the connection manually, typing SSID, choosing the encrytion, etc, I can SOMETIMES connect. Couldn't do it with one laptop and my new phone, Palm Pre, will not connect this way.

So what should I do? Could it be something in NVRAM?
A complete wipe is the only thing I haven't tried.

Complete wipe, and go back to 1.23 or wait for 1.26.
