A friend and I recently got into an arguement regarding the pronounciation of Thibor, and even where the name comes from, for that matter. One of us believes it rhymes with the word "cyborg" (In other words, "Th-EYE-bor" The other believes that the "i" is short. "Th-i-bor" kind of like the word thick. Which one is it? Also, where does the name come from?
I always assumed a silent 'h' and the 'i' having a long e sound with accent on the 1st syllable Tee'-bor Don't know why I assumed this.
I think its pronounced "tibo", which means "phillipino lesbian". But then again, I could be wrong....
hmm, if i didn't know better, i'd say that some idiot septic was trying to provoke a response from me it's pronounced Tee-bor, and originates from the Nescroscope books by Brian Lumley, well worth reading; for those into Horror books.
Good question! I always wondered myself how it was pronounced and what it meant. Looks like I had it correct all along, but my last name starts with T.H.I. so I guess I had the inside track on the pronunciation.
Then again Thibor could always make an audio recording of how he pronounces it. Hey Linus Torvalds did it on how he pronounces Linux
It comes from a common Hungarian name: TIBOR, he just added a "silent H" to make it look different/less common Noth the "i" and "o" are short.
