I can't seem to find the source code for older versions (1.16 in particular) of tomato. Is anybody aware of a location they are still available? Or, by chance, does anybody have it lying around that could send it to me?

I would like to see the changes made in the VPN mod. But, since the newest available is based on tomato 1.16 and it seems only 1.21 source is available on the tomato site (as far as I can find), I'm unable to compare

Since the GPL requires it be made available, I assume I could email Jon for it, but I thought I'd check for a publicly available location first.

The polarcloud.com/tomato lists the following Rotten tomatoes as available (scroll down the page):

    (old files)
    Tomato_1_19.7z, Tomato_1_19_ND.7z

That is only the binaries, not the source.

That's not a great way to thank Jon for all his hard work, for releasing the source to all his non-GPL stuff as well as patches to the Linksys GPL release, and providing free downloads etc.

If I had ever downloaded that version I would still have it somewhere.

The source was on his page if I recall, so there should not be a problem.

If there is a need to peer review the software, and the author is happy with this
then they should not have any objections ( if they have, do not publish it, or withdraw it with notification),
especially if its to improve the software.

I don't see what you mean here. I wasn't saying I was going to threaten him with a lawsuit or anything; just that he probably has them readily available to send so as to comply with the licensing... Besides, the only reason I want it is because I think so highly of his work...

If you'd be willing to check and send it to me if found, I would really appreciate it :) Just PM me and we could work out logistics.

I got a response from Jon, and for those that are curious, old sources are still available on the site. They just aren't linked to and were moved into a "rotten" directory (eg http://www.polarcloud.com/f/rotten/TomatoSource_1_16.tar.bz2).

I feel kind of silly for not trying that, seeing as how that's where the binaries where moved to as well...
