Old WRT54g will not connect

Have an older WRT54G v1.1 with DD-WRT firmware installed and has worked flawlessly for years and for an odd reason it just stopped connecting to the internet. It is transmitting but not connecting to the web. Could this router have just quit working? My ISP is verizon and connect using DHCP. I now have a linksys 120n connected and working but this wireless router is a piece of crap. It's slow and drops signal, getting ready to send it back. But I'm still wanting to try to get the WRT54G working. What if any test can I run to see if this router is still working? Or should I just give up and trash it? If I could tweak the 120n and get it working I'd probably keep it. But from the reviews I have read after I bought it, it does not sound like this thing is worth keeping.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
