I have two computers connected to my router in an identical manner (both wired ethernet) with matching settings, but one has much faster speeds than the other.

However if i plug the modem directly to the slower machine the sppeds match those found on the faster machine.

My ISP is Blueyonder 750 and both machines are running XP

    Thanks for any help

when u say speed is this the download speed from the internet or speed transfering files from one pc to the other?

what i would suggest is go here:

    http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks (tweak tester II)

then run the application on one pc first. the once you have the results

look at the Notes and recommendations if it says RWIN needs to be changed etc the use the DRTCP tool http://www.broadbandreports.com/drtcp. change the setting to a recommended one and reboot PC. then test again.

    you should be aiming for:

    Notes and recommendations:
    RWIN is in range
    Looking good

    Notes and recommendations:
    Good data stream (no/few rexmits)

then move to next PC and do the same.

    hope this helps...

my example of the test is here:
