    i set the web-gui port to 443, and it doesnt work now.

    how can i change it back to 80 or 8080 through the shell and apply the settings?

    thanks,
    Leon

    lol. if that worked there would be no issue.

    when i try to go in through 443 i get prompted to download an application/octet-stream...dunno why that mimetype, but basically it isnt working, so i actually need to reset the port through the shell

    ssh/telnet to the box, do a `nvram set http_lanport=80`, then nvram commit and try again.

    did that, no go unfortunately :(
    maybe some other defaults that need to be reset?
    ...strangely, 443 still gives me the weird response as before.
    i dont have too much config in it, i can always just reset it, i'd kind of like to learn tho.

    thanks.

    And you restarted the router or httpd after the "nvram commit" to reload the settings? If this still does not help maybe do a "nvram show | grep http" to see if anything else is missing..

    ye, i reset it (typed reboot, it said rebooting"...even turned it off an on again to make sure afterwards.

    Code:
    http_client_ip=192.168.1.101
    http_client_mac=00:13:D4:1F:99:F9
    http_enable=0
    http_lanport=80
    http_method=post
    http_passwd=*****
    http_redirect_destination=0.0.0.0
    http_redirect_enable=0
    http_redirect_port=3128
    http_source_network=0.0.0.0
    http_username=root
    http_wanport=443
    httpd_enable=1
    https_crt_cn=
    https_crt_save=0
    https_enable=0
    https_lanport=
    httpsd_enable=0
    remote_mgt_https=0
    snmpd_conf=See http://www.net-snmp.org for expert snmpd.conf options
    wd_httpdcon=10
    wd_httpdname=WiFiDog
    wd_httpport=80
    port 80 doesnt do anything
    managed to close 443 tho

    Not positive but I think you need:
    http_enable=1

    so:
    nvram set http_enable=1
    nvram commit
    reboot
