Options to boost the wireless signal on a WRT54GS?

I'm in a three person apartment and I don't know what it is, our wireless signal on the other side of the apt is terrible.

It's not more than 15 feet away and I don't think the walls are that thick to block the signal that much. I can't move the wireless router to any other spots in the apartment due to cable connection ristrictions so I was curious to know if there's any other options for boosting the signal in the other room.

I'm getting signal from other apartment rooms that are excelent but terrible from our own.

Thanks in advance for any help!

upgrading the signal can be done by using sveasofts firmware. this however is not free, but a minimum $20s gives you ones years acess to new firmware and support. afaik sveasoft is atm the only firmware that supports wireless signal boosting from firmware.

you may have interference from mobile or cordless phones so maybe a test of turning all appliances off and checking the reception levels again.

also using 11g instead of 54g may result in reception performance, though the best is the firmware upgrade.

for more information please goto http://www.sveasoft.com/modules/phpBB2/index.php

u could also try adding larger 5.5dBa antennas
