OT: On hiatus starting tomorrow

Not that I'm a key/important person or anything, nor am I implying such, but I do post a lot so I thought I'd at least say something.

As of tomorrow I'll be going on hiatus from the forum for an indefinite amount of time (definitely weeks, possibly months).

The reason is that I find I have practically no time to do the things I want to do (meaning for some reason in my mind, providing "support" of sorts here on the forum has become a necessity (addiction?) of sorts, rather than something that's best-effort). I spend between 7-8 hours a day answering questions across literally 6 or 7 online help forums (not just here!) for multiple subjects, in addition to answering a large volume of Email on FreeBSD mailing lists. The more technical an issue/question/etc. is, the more detail/attention/time is required. All of this stresses me out greatly (no one is to blame but myself!), so I really need to rethink how I'm allocating/spending my time and get some distance from things for a bit.

Not that i acknowledge that you are a important person ;) But i seriously wish you a
good and healthy "vacation" from the forum. Take care of yourself!

I understand. I spend too much time on the computer myself. Have a good vacation. Just don't stay gone too long. ;)

Take care Koitsu. I've learned quite a bit by reading your posts, I'll miss that.

I (usually) have pretty hefty workplace demands that prevent me from getting too involved in online forums for hours on end. Getting yanked away from your desk does that!

Its best to balance your interests, too much of any one thing is always bad. When you find that balance I hope you will return. But above all, take care of yourself.

Koitsu, thanks for your effort and help to the forum, I'll miss your technical explanations.. but ... :) .. you can write a half in your posts, not? (joke)

Thanks a lot and as I say always, there is life out of Tomato ;)

I've always read your posts, even if I didn't part take in that particular thread, and I enjoyed all the information you have provided for us here, and am thankful for it. I hope you enjoy your time to get away from it all!!!

I look forward to being able to post my "atrocious" code without fear of withering criticism :)

Have a good time off. I am always shocked at the level of detail you put into answering people's questions on the forums - no matter how trivial it seems.

Just wanted to let you know, your help is appreciated.

Thanks for all your contributions. Wish you the best. Hope you find a nice hobby and not another addiction.

Will miss your interesting points of view and feedback. If you learn to paraphrase a little more you can save a lot more time, which you could devote to other things like giving your cable guy a hard time. If you decide to break under the pressure, don't try to post under a new user name. We can spot your overconfident responses anywhere. ;)

As I'm sure some have noticed (given that I've replied to a page of posts, haha), I'm somewhat back. I will not be spending as much time here as I used to, but I'll be around. Know that I will be extremely sensitive to which threads I choose to respond to at this point, solely due to time limitations. If there's something I'm helping with and get to a point where I feel it's going to take up too much time / time I do not have, I'll let the person know in the thread (politely) at that point.
