Is there an easy way to increase the size of data packets & increase data trasmission speed on a broadband internet connection?

I've found this application which works for a mac:

    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/broadbandtuner10.html

I'm looking for some way of doing the same for my pc.

    many thanks,

    TT.

IF it's an application directed for a pc and not for a router, modem, etc. then NO.

What you need is a router or a better router if you have one and/or a better modem, look for better upgrades/firmwares that let you use more options to control your internet connection and just keep your PC's virus and spyware free, defragment and use disk cleanup on a weekly basis and you got yourself an optimized network.

Now I study in computing and the only application anyone will give to you to optimize your internet connection on your computer will only change your MTU, MSS, MRU, WINDOW SIZE and/or TCP/IP settings. That may look like a lot, but it isn't really. It's just a step to increase network flow a bit to the optimized device or computer.

    Thanks guys,

Appreciate the help. I'm already running hyper wrt firmware on a linksys WRT54G. I'll try the tweaks & see if it helps.
