    Hello

I would be grateful if someone can help/suggest for the below:

I am trying to passively monitor wireless traffic of strongest WAP from a ASUS RT16/ Netgear WNR3500L.
I have flashed the Tomato firmware tomato-K26-1.28.9054MIPSR2-beta-Mini on ASUS RT16/ Netgear WNR3500L.

    In order to do that:

1- ASUS RT16/ Netgear WNR3500L is wired connected to another router.
    2- Have tcpdump installed

The following commands put the ASUS RT16/ Netgear WNR3500L to passive monitor mode.

    wl up
    wl ap 0
    wl disassoc
    wl passive 1
    wl monitor 1
    wl promisc 1

Then perform the scan operation to find the strongest AP and connect on that channel.

Unfortunately the "wl monitor 1" command doesn't create a new interface like prism0, for the tcpdump to capture the traffic.

It could be that the wirless passive monitor mode is not supported in this beta firmware build tomato-K26-1.28.9054MIPSR2-beta-Mini.
I would appreciate if anyone can share info about the firmware build for ASUS RT16/ Netgear WNR3500L, which supports passive wireless monitor mode.

    Thanks in advance
