    RE: Cracking admin password...

reset the router by pressing the reset button on the back until the red diag light comes on and goes back off. You will loose all settings but the password will default back to "admin" which you can then change.

Brute force attacks wont work because the router login cgi will only allow 3 unsuccuessful password attempts. Sounds like you are S.O.L. - Sorry man

Lazy hacker to not think of resetting it and installing a keylogger to catch the new one

Why not change the MAC address of your PC?

    Are they blocking your MAC?

or are they only allowing their own MAC addr?

If the first, then you should be able to change your MAC on your PC network card easily enough.

I tried cracking it using Brutus and it seems to allow about 1000 attempts before shutting you off. The CGI allows three attempts from your web browser, but notice that you can just hit the reload button after the third failed attempt and it will prompt you for the password again. Brutus basically reloads the page every time it tries a new password.

Anyway, just try using a keylogger. It's much easier than using an http password cracker (and there don't seem to be many good free ones around).
