This may be an easy answer for many of you so please help me if you can. I am usually pretty decent at figuring my computer problems out, but I can't find this answer anywhere.

I have a linksys WRT54G router. I just moved into my apartment and internet is included in the lease. There is not modem needed and there is an Ethernet port directly in the wall. Supposedly I should be able to attach my router right to the port and it should work.

Whenever I connect the router to either of my computers (mac and pc) the internet doesnt work, also the computers pick up the wireless signal. There are always a ton more "packets sent" than received.

When I plug either of my computers directly into the wall, the internet works fine.

Supposedly, other people in my apartment have working routers but I can't figure mine out. Please help!
