Has anyone got this working reliably? How?

What are you able to do with it?

It's taken me ages to get as far as I have, and that is only to the point where I can reliably make a VPN connection using the inbuilt XP VPN client (the biggest problem was the firewall in my Belkin modem which is sitting on the ADSL connection in front of the Linksys). I'm using Wifi-box firmware v2.02.2.6 by the way.

BUT I can only ping machines on the internal network, not access anything. I notice that the PPTP VPN server is assigning subnet masks of 255.255.255.255, whereas the DHCP server is assigning machines on the internal network to subnet masks of 255.255.255.0.

I wonder if this has anything to do with why it won't work?

It doesn't seem possible to change any PPTP server settings to change this, and the DHCP server only has limited selections too - of course 255.255.255.255 is NOT one of them.

If you have got this working, can you check your subnet masks using ipconfig to see if the subnet masks on your VPN connection and on your internal network machines are the same?
