Running Tomato Firmware v1.28.7511 MIPSR2Toastman-RT K26 USB VPN-NC on an asus RT-N16, replacing a WL-520GU with older Toastman firmware. Configured the firmware to write and backup Bandwidth and IP Monitoring logs to a connected USB hard drive which also acts as a fileserver for the family. Seems to be doing fine, and having the IP Monitoring is a godsend compared to the Bandwidth-only of the older smaller router. But I've searched here unsuccessfully to find any detailed discussion on the logs...what can be used to read them off the router (Win/Mac/linux); when and what to restore after a reboot or factory reset or, most likely in my local case, when the power goes out longer than the UPS can hold; that sort of thing. With my upcoming switch to Comcast and their profit-motivated bandwidth restrictions, having something local I can compare to their closed-off secretive bandwidth monitoring is vitally important (it's a little like the electric company monitoring your usage at their offices without a local meter you can check to verify). I'd rather lose as little data as possible both on the ramp-up while still using slow aDSL and then when Comcast is in here. If anyone can point me to a discussion (here or elsewhere) dealing with the logs Tomato writes/backs-up, I'd be grateful.
