The wizard that came with this software was not very helpful
i am using the xmp54g on the receiver end and a draytek vigor 2600vg as the transmitter.
Only 10 metres between two d evices but a low or very low connection. personally i think this is due to a bad configuration, but i am prepared to pay for equipment to boost my performance if necessary. :

Also, its impossible to uninstall the linksys software that came with the cd, i get some sort of kernel32 error and it wont uninstall ! which means i cant uninstall and perform a fresh install or even upgrade. : (
Someone please help? ive browsed for a solution extensively but cant get any info.

Hmmmmm. You said a KERNAL32 error.

Well that's a very bad, bad thing. Basicly it means that the main processing and system files for the computers CPU and Operating System is malfunctioning on its own or with the device. You should go in SAFE MODE on your computer to uninstall this program, because most likely the issue is with your computer.

    This can fix the problem:

You should periodically Defragment your Drives, run a Registry Error-Fixing tool if you have one, and use the hard drive ERROR-CHECKING tool(right click Drive C:, click properties, and then tools) to fix major errors that can be messing up your PC.

If you use only this computer to connect to the internet and you are having internet connection problems you should check you NIC for software & hardware problems, too.
