I've just set up port forwarding on my Linksys E2500 router and I've discovered that I have to disable IPV4 SP1 Firewall Protection in order for it to work.

I was under the impression all that was required for port forwarding is to enter the static IP address of the workstation and the port and the required protocol in the Single Port Forwarding section of the Applications and Gaming Tab. Well, I tried this and I kept getting a connection Refused message using the TCP protocol. So, I disabled the firewall protection and port forwarding is now working.

Can anyone provide a detailed explanation of the firewall protection and how I can enable it and still have port forwarding work properly?
