possible to port fwd to broadcast address?

My friend is able to accomplish this with his router, as it makes it convenient to send a WOL magic packet and wake up several machines configured for WOL all at once.

When I try entering 192.168.1.255 it does not allow that IP in the port forward. (Invalid IP address) error message pops up.

Isn't a WOL packet already a broadcast? I don't think you can do a "mass wakeup" if that is what you are asking...

If you configure tomato with static IP's for those machines, or they are still in the ARP cache, then you just go to the WOL page and click away... not too terribly difficult.

Thanks for the reply jason, yes I am doing it that way now, however, a friend of mine on a D-Link gamer lounge model is able to do it the way I wrote up just before. I know its a lazy way out but its also kind of nifty feature/ability to send one packet out from my WOL app on my android phone and know I can wake up all the PC's or NAS's in the house or at a client site, as remoting in or accessing the router web page over a slow phone web connection isn't all too friendly.

If it's not possible to do a mass-broadcast, having a script on the router to automatically send a WOL packet to each address in its arp cache shouldn't be too terribly difficult to write...
