Using Shibby 102 here, i'm trying to connect from my iOS device via VPN PPTP to my router then trying to get an iOS application (Harmony link) to work by scanning my network for my Harmony link device...

The only method i'm able to get this to work is by connecting my iOS device via WIFI...then it can find the device..

Trying to do the same thing but over PPTP...but its not able to find it..

I tried changing the Remote IP Address range to match the same subnet as my WIFI (192.168.1.x) but still no use...

I tried adding the IP for the device as DMZ...didn't work also.

Anyone can help me identify the issue?

This requires multicast capability, which (to the best of my knowledge) PPTP does not support.

You might have to go the OpenVPN route. I prefer the security in it anyways.

Concur, but be aware that multicast will only work over tap. tun only does unicast.

That does not surprise me at all with the nazi regime...I mean Apple...controlling what you do on the device you bought.
