PPTP slow - VPN Server (WRT54G) and VPN Client (Win XP)

I setup my WRT54G to enable PPP/PPTP with Server as the router. I can connect ok and everything seems to be working. However the speed through the VPN connect is very slow. From Windows Task Manager, Network Utilization is only 2% and Link Speed is at 100Mbps.

How do I get faster transfer rate, more Network Utilization?

    Thanks,

    Daniel

... and on the wrt cpu usage is at about 100%. either the mips in wrt is too slow or the portage of pptpd was done in a worse way.
There is no way to speed pptp up using alchemy.

how do you check the wrt cpu usage? are there other firmware that will operate PPP better/faster?

you can check cpu usage on the wrt by going to your status page (shown below)
the red boxaround it is the cpu usage (1.00=100% cpu usage)
