I have attempted a reboot on both the printer and the router several times.

I have changed the jack at the back of the router.

I have tried STATIC DHCP and STATIC IP... and not been able to ping

The MAC and IP are listed in device list, but no lease time. (plugged into the gateway)

Some dhcp devices for whatever reason do not like talking with certain servers. I have a couple here myself, just plug the ip in statically and make sure you set the mac statically on the router so it will not issue that same ip to another host.

As I said in my original post static does not work...

I have cleared NVRAM, and bofore config..ing the router I checked Device List and it was not picking up the printer.

    Type

Just curious: what kind of printer are you dealing with (brand, type, sub-type, etc.)?

an HP... I plugged into a swtich(netgear) and plugged that into a GSv4... coincidently I plugged it into my 2nd router (Gv2) and guess what... it works???? hhhmmmmm?????

I'm leaning towords a bad network cable???

It turns out my GS for what ever reason does not like it... after connecting the printer to the G router - DHCP assigns, static works, everything works
