priority for a wired device on port 1 over wireless

I am new here and would greatly appreciate a reply.

At home, I have a WRT54G Ver5 having 3 wireless connections and VoIP device on (wired) port 1. I would like to set the highest priority for my VoIP device over the wireless connections.

I did read FAQ's How do I setup QoS on my Router and still have questions.

With the latest Linksys firmware, will either (1) Device Priority by MAC address or (2) Ethernet Port priority really provide a priority for a wired device over wireless ones?

Will third parties’ firmware serve my purpose better than the original Linksys’ one? Is there any firmware, which efficiently provides QOS for not only upload, but also for download?
