Problem: cant find an ip for WRT54G

    i cant use my WRT54G i dont know whats wrong with it...i cant find an ip or log on to any websites i am right now on directly hooked up to my modem....im a big newb to this stuff

    There are 2 things you can try out to get the IP address of the router.
    If it is set up as a DHCP server (by default it is), then simply plug in a PC to one of the 4 lan ports as a DHCP client. Go to a command prompt and type:
    ipconfig /all and see what the default gateway IP address is. That should be your router.

    Otherwise, reset the box by unplugging it and then powering it back up with the reset button depressed. You need to hold the reset for about 5 seconds and then follow step one again. Your router's IP address will now be with a password of 'admin'
