Problem connecting notebook to router

Hello, it's been over a year since I've been back to this forum and was hoping to get some help with my recent problem. My sister just purchased a Sony Vaio notebook, problem is after typing the security key it says it won't connect. I can connect by ethernet cable, but not through wireless. The reason I'm asking here is because I suspect it's a router problem. When I try to connect to my neighbors network I get a Incorrect Password please try again, but on mine it just says Cannot Connect.

I have three computers connected to this router. Two by wireless (both sisters) and one by ethernet (me). So it's strange for my sisters computer to be connected but not the notebook.

    router spec: Linksys WRT54G V3 with Firmware Version : v4.70.6 - HyperWRT 2.1b1 + Thibor11

If theres anything else you need to know just ask. Thanks for your time.

I recommend you upgrade to the latest Thibor firmware, which has been stable now for some 15 months, and based on later bug-fixed Linksys code than your old version. Follow the instructions carefully, you'll need to reset to defaults before and after and re-enter all your configurations by hand I'm afraid.

I agree with the above, though most wireless connection issues are because on an incorrectly typed key.

Thanks a lot mstombs! Your advice fixed the problem =D. Guess Thibor11 was kinda out of date.
