I upgraded from DD-WRT v23 std (12/25/05) to DD-WRT std V23 SP2 and it went well. But I discovered with my wifi config my internet connection is slowed down by 20 % (from 2000 KB/s to 1600 KB/s). I introduced my own login and password.

I decided to dowgrade back to DD-WRT std v23 origin (12/25/05) and it went well. My connection speed is now regularily back to 2000 KB/s. The problem is now I can no longer access the configuration setup of my router via http://192.168.xxxx.yyy. It doesn't accept the login and password I set up under SP2.

So I'm stuck and I'ld like to avoid resetting factory parameters and needing to reconfigure the all stuff again.

    Any idea Thanks

When you upgrade or downgrade firmware you need to start with default settings by doing a hard reset. After a flash you are supposed to do a hard reset in order for your router to work correctly. I think its inevitable that you'll have to do a hard reset to get access.

OK I understand. Up to now (V23 SP2) I was able to upgrade/downgrade without any problem keeping alive my current router setting.

BTW, when dowgrading, igot a router which is runnung perfectly !!!! The only major problem is I'm now unable to access the config stting with the loin/password I introduced in SP2 !!!

So, If I've to hard reset, I'll do, but it's too bad !!!

    Thanks

I think you ran into this "problem":

If you're upgrading from DD-WRT v23 SP2+, be aware that you may get locked-out because of a change in DD-WRT's use of the nvram password key. You have a few options:

    * Push the reset button to reset all the configuration after installing Tomato.
    * Type "nvram get http_passwd" while running DD-WRT and write down the result - this will be your password after loading Tomato.

    It's from the Tomato wikibook.
So i think there's no other way than resetting it.

    Thanks for your answer!

I upgrated from DD-WRT std V23 origine (12/25/05) to DD-WRT std V23 SP2 and established new login/password. I am getting problem after downgrading back to DD-WRT std V23 origine (12/25/05). I canno longer access the router with the login/password I put in SP2.

    What is Tomato ???

Where and how I can enter Type "nvram get http_passwd" ???

THe router with DD-WRT std V23 origine (12/25/05) is running well, the only problem is in accessing via http://192.168.xxx.yyy

    Thanks in advance for help.

OK I know now what Tomato is !!!!

I pushed the reset button to come back to factory parameters. And I reentered my configuration parameters. It works fine...

But I've the problem accessing DD-WRT std V23 origine (12/25/05) config with Internet explorer V7, they are blanc fields when visualizing with graphic blue/red/Green style .... So, I switched temporarily to brainslayer style ...

Any idea to solve this under DD-WRT std V23 origine (12/25/05).
    Thanks
