    Hi,
i have one wired motorola cable router (192.168.0.1) with an static ip an two WRT54G (192.168.0.10, 192.168.0.11).
The distance from one WRT54G to my pc is too high, so i want to use the second WRT54G as repeater to have a good signal.

I already read the post how to do it with the Alchemy firmware, but i installed the dd-wrt[1].v23_voip_wrt54g.bin firmware.

Can anybody explain me what to do?

The motorola router (dhcp disabled) is wired connected to the first WRT54G (192.168.0.10). Static ip, Subnet, Gateway and Dns1, DNS2 are written in the basic setup of the WRT54G. In the wireless setup the WRT54G is AP and in the wds-funcion is the wireless-mac of router 2.

Router 2 is client in the wireless setup, but i can´t ping it. May it be, that Router 2 must be Client bridged. If Router 2 is client, a wired connection between Router 2 and a PC is possible. But not wireless.

maybe somebody can explain me, what to write in the basic setup and the wireless setup of router 1 and router 2.

thx and sorry for my bad english -:)

Now it works, but only with this settings:

    Motorola cable router:
    192.168.0.1
    dhcp on

    WRT54G 1:
    192.168.0.10
Internet setting with automatic configuration (dhcp)
    gateway: 192.168.0.1
    dns: 192.168.0.1
    dhcp forwarder for 192.168.0.1
    wireless modus: ap
wds: wireless mac from WRT54G 2

    WRT54G 2:
    192.168.0.11
Internet setting with automatic configuration (dhcp)
    gateway: 192.168.0.10
    dns: 192.168.0.10
    dhcp forwarder for 192.168.0.1
    wireless modus: ap
wds: wireless mac from WRT54G 1

    pc with dhcp as client

    Now, is that normal?
