Problems with DMZ on RV042 v3

I'm trying to get the "Range (DMZ & WAN within same subnet)" feature working with RV042v3 (

The RV042 works as a firewall router, and is placed behind an old RV016 acting as a Internet and VPN gateway. As the old RV0xx are unable to filter the traffic arriving through IPSec VPN I placed a set in router mode RV042v3 in betwenn the VPN gateway and LAN. The problem is to use the same RV042v3 device as a firewall for WiFi traffic with the DMZ feature.

Right now a WRT54G v7 is the WiFi access point and is placed behind RV016 in a separate subnet. But, when I move the WRT54G to the DMZ port of the RV042v3 I can no longer ping it from the LAN.

I had no problems with making use of the DMZ range mode feature in the RV082v1. But the same function in RV042v3 does seem to work quite differently and I can not make it work, for some reason.

I found the cause of the problem. It appears, the RV042v3 has a bug. When working in the DMZ mode the Dual WAN protocol binding rules are still in effect. To get rid of the issue I had to switch off the DMZ mode. Then to delete all the protocol binding rules. Then to switch back on the DMZ mode.

Now pinging DMZ hosts from LAN works correctly.
