Problems with WRT54GS V1.1 w/ Speedbooster

I'm new here and am looking for some help..

I have a Linksys WRT54GS V1.1 with Speed booster (along w/ the Linksys Wireless internal PCI card w/ Speed booster - WMP WMP54GSv1.1).

For the last year it's been working FANTASTIC!!! I've recently upgraded the Firmware on the router to 4.71.1 and the drivers for the internal card to

Since this time I have had a terrible time with my signal / strength / throughput. Basically it will show that it has EXCELLENT strenght @ 54 mbps and the instant I open a web page or anything it will drop to 48, 36, 11, 2 then 1 mbps throughput. The connection will drag along barely sending / receiving anything.

I've tried to work w/ Linksys and reverted my router back to 4.50.6 and uninstalled the driver and rolled back to an older driver for the internal card. I'm still having problems. I also tried to remove the Broadcom Wireless Network Utility and reinstall it.

After some of the installs / uninstalls I had it saying 120 mbps / 108 mbps and so on but it was pulling extremely slow.

I've removed and reloaded the firmware / drivers and had it working for about 4 days (normally pulling at 54 mbps). I rebooted my computer yesterday after upgrading my McAfee software and now the signal is having the same problems as before. So I tried to do what I did before, remove all firmware / drivers install old (still not working), then updated them again (still not working). I tried to stop the WCZ service (Windows Zero Wireless Configuration) and use the Linksys Wireless Network Utility.. but I'm still having problems..

I've tried different channels, tried putting my Linksys router closer to my computer (next to it), tried to install and uninstall the firmware / drivers, updated the firmware / drivers, turned off the WCZ, set the signal to G only and B+G, changed the MTU..

I still can't get it to connect properly!!!

The only thing I haven't tried yet is to upgrade the Broadcom Wireless Network Utility from to 4.0 or 5.0...

If anyone knows of some possible changes that help me get up and running properly. I would GREATLY appriecate it!!
