    Been using the build from the earlier in the week but seems faster and fix my port forwarding glitch. :)

    Minor bug router slowly crashes after a couple days of being up without a reboot....after a while dhcpd stops working and eventually routing stops...power cycle and everything is good.

    Also wondering for the QoS capabilities if custom L7 hashing could be implremented in vi the web interface, again just an idea.

    Brainslayer you seem to be currently Acting like James @ Sveasoft when he released Talisman. He Released Talisman Before Releasing Alchemy Final. Now Alchemy has alot of bugs even in the final stage. Please Focus more on DD-WRT V22 Final than on V23. I just dont want to see DD-WRT V22 end up like Alchemy v1.0.

    also if V22 is theoreticly ready, i can't solve all problems with it. thats why i started from scratch with V23. V23 is a experimetal codebase. everything whats good, will be integrated in V22 before releasing it. this way is a common way in the software industry.
    V22 = just bug fixing
    V23 = new features

    i know. all waiting for v22. i'm just afraid of tagging it final and leaving it as it is

    Thank you for enlightening me I was not sure what was going on Brainslayer. I didnt know that was your plan. As for the other guy Im sorry I got you angry.

    I thought you were releasing Sneak versions like you did with Pre 5. Why try to release it Final so early when you have only released one Sneak Preview.

  12. bombastikde

    bombastikde Network Guru Member

    I thonk this in a way to help BS to find out the bugs.
    We try the sneaks on our own risk, that you can use the final version earlier :lol:

  13. marczeeee

    marczeeee Network Guru Member

    But maybe there can be some kind of subversioning in the sneak versions, it would be helpful when you report a bug, there won't be any confusion which version you are running actually. Could be like DD-WRT v22 pre5 sneak 13 or some similar thing.

    I think it does not have the Wireless Fixes. I think only that is in the V23... but I am not sure though.

    only v23 will bring the wireless fixes. if i would fix this in v22, we would loose QOS. not a good choice

    Hi BS,
    I find out another Bug in the 23VOIP.

    Wireless > Advanced Settings > Xmit Power
    will be reset to 28mw (default) after an reboot

    Wireless > MAC Filter > Permit only PCs listed to access the wireless network
    can't use it

    But you know.... many thanks for the good job

    PS: shouldn't we start an new tread for bugs in V23?

    Edit:
    Now i did a big mistake:
    I changed the Style from KROMO to Brainslyer and now i don't find any "Save Changes" Button. Please help i can't change anything :oops:

    Regaridng v.23 VoIP Sneak Preview:

    The router´s IP is set to 192.168.0.2

    Though the command "cat /etc/ser/ser.cfg | grep fix" results in :
    fix_nated_contact ("192.168.1.2);
    fix_nated_contact ("192.168.1.2);
    fix_nated_contact ("192.168.1.2);

    Don´t know why the networking mask is 192.168.1.2
    It should be 192.168.0.2, shouldn´t it?

    Hi,
    i've installed v23 alpha.
    But there seems to be a bug with the https-option in the adminmenu. When i activat the https and http, after saving both checkboxes are NOT activated. But i can connect via http. https doesn't work for me.

    @Brainslayer:
    do you plan to integrate freeradius or something like this? cause i don't want to use openwrt because i like your firmware and the features which are easily to use :)
    I've also tried to use the freeradius ipkg-packet. But when i start radiusd it always says: radiusd: can't load library 'libcrypto.so.0.9.7

    Should I swtich from prefinal5?

    I am currently using prefinal5, and it works flawlessly for me (which I could not say about Alchemy, my internet would always drop out). My needs are really simple, I use WDS with two routers and WPA-AES PSK encryption. Is there any reason I should switch from prefinal5 to final? I know I will switch to v23 eventually because I would prefer WPA2 over WPA AES encryption. (I'm a little scared to now because everything is working great and v23 isn't beta yet.) But is it worth it to switch to 22 final, or should I just hold out? A list of bug fixes and enchancements from prefinal5 to final would be useful in deciding whether or not I should upgrade.

    Thanks so much Brianslayer. This firmware works great for me! It is more stable than any other router I have owned, stock firmware or hacked firmware. Nice work!

    Don´t know if it´s a mistake of SIPatH or a faulty integration into DD-WRT, so:

    The developer of SIPatH wrote me:
    OK, the NAT fixing does not work properly. You are registering with the private address 192.168.1.2 and the named providers "don't want you to use private ip addresses". This address is the default one and should be updated with your ppp0 address when dialing in. In other words the command "cat /etc/ser/ser.cfg | grep fix" should print your current ppp0 address. In your case this doesn't work.

    Maybe you have a problem with the ip-up script.
    I'm wondering why you don't have an entry in the wan address section of the status page.

    I'm using now the v22 final and I was suprised that after enabling jffs2, I had only 576k free space. With pre5 there was more, I did an ipkg update and more than half of the free space is gone. Is this normal, or there something went wrong? Df shows this:
    Code:
    Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/root                 2624      2624         0 100% /

    Still in SER Status
    RTPproxy: 192.168.0.2 195.158.xxx.xxx
    lan address: 192.168.0.2
    wan address:

    so the wan address field is empty (but the WAN IP is shown on the top of the GUI) - strange

    The output of
    cat /etc/ser/ser.cfg | grep fix is:

    fix_nated_contact ("192.168.1.2);
    fix_nated_contact ("192.168.1.2);
    fix_nated_contact ("192.168.1.2);

    The output of
    cat /tmp/ser/ser.cfg | grep fix is:

    fix_nated_contact ("195.158.xxx.xxx);
    fix_nated_contact ("195.158.xxx.xxx);
    fix_nated_contact ("195.158.xxx.xxx);

    So what can I do that this file is used instead of /etc/ser/ser.cfg cause otherwise a privat IP address is given to the VoIP provider, not the WAN IP and registration is refused with code 479: Please don´t use private IP addresses.

    I used dd-wrt.v23_wrt54g.bin to flash my WRT54G v3 last night, and scared the crap out of myself because it would not produce a wireless signal. I was able to set a static ip address and connect to the router via ethernet port 1. It was there I flashed back to the dd-wrt.v23-generic.bin that was posted some pages back earlier by BrainSlayer.

    ...did I do something wrong using the WRT54G version because I have a v3? Should I stick to the generic from now on?

    There is a Bug in the jffs partition in V23 alpha Built 25/07/2005!!!

    activate jffs on the Web-GUI (include the dhcp lease on jffs) is not working. The buttons don´t work. Just do this on Telnet:

    nvram set jffs_mounted=1
    nvram set enable_jffs2=1
    nvram set clean_jffs2=0
    nvram set sys_enable_jffs2=1
    nvram set sys_clean_jffs2=0
    nvram set dhcpd_usejffs=0

    reboot

    IPLOCAL = 195.158.1xx.xxx

    So everything looks OK there... But still the field "WAN address" is empty

    The account is also shown in SIPatH Phonebook

    Phonebook: Contacts
    Active URIs Phone URI / Alias
    ======================================
    'bluesip/ID'
    ======================================

    But still Please don´t use private IP addresses

    okay this log is done by the ip-up script. but that also means ip-up is getting the correct parameters

    mmh can you try to take a look into /etc/ppp/ip-up. maybe you'll find something which causes the error.

    Will a PCAP Trace be helpful - taken between Modem and Router?

    I think brainslayer did some adaptations when he ported SIPatH to dd-wrt. I haven't seen his changes yet and therefore I can only guess. When /tmp/ser/ser.cfg is used as config file, this must be considered with the aditional parameter "-f /tmp/ser/ser.cfg" when calling ser. The file /tmp/ser/ser.cfg includes the right addresses as we saw in one of your last posts. Now there is the question which config file is used by ser. But as I said before I must have a look at the dd-wrt files to be able to answer that question.

    possibly. but generally i believe its a configuration problem. but to find it out, we have to find out whats going wrong while calling the ip-up script

    no. ser is configured to use this config file per default

    Hello,

    Strange behaviour with sipgate and v23 from 27.7.2005 here. I can call from outside and talk, I can call 10000 and it tells me, the telephone is right configured. But if I want to dial from inside to an different outside number (than 10000), the system tells me (via voice) that there was an error and I should try again. Of cause, there is money at the account. Can someone help me out?

    Between, Brainslayer great work. This "alpha" works like a charm.

    Best regards

    Another bug found,
    If you upgrade your router and the router is finished with upgrading firmmware, the router goes into a reboot loop.
    only if you pul the power off and back in the router restarts normaly.
