    I'm running v23 Final on a GS 2.1 and G 2.0.

I have the WRT54GS acting as the router and also providing wireless to the "802.11G" clients. I have the WRT54G hooked up to a switch along with my other pc's providing wireless to the "802.11B" clients. One notebook only has a B adapter and it is my understanding i could not run a router in mixed mode since they would all slow down to "B" speeds.

Now for my situation. When i connect my laptop to the 54G wireless running in B mode i get almost 650KB/s transfer rate on the internet. When i connect it to the router running in G mode i can only get about 400KB/s. Both are using WPA.

Any thoughts on why this is the case? I apologize if i was not clear in my explanation.

Disabled Afterburner on Router and on Wireless card and everything is working at the expected speeds.

G mode has lower signal strengh than B.. Try forcing B mode, assuming your cards are the same make they should get simmilar speeds.
