I am having a problem with QOS identifying connections that originate from the WRT54 through SSH. As you know, when SSH is acting as a SOCKS proxy, it takes a request from the client and then makes a connection to the remote server. I cannot get QOS to recognize these connections using the router's MAC address. I tried using the WAN, LAN, and WiFi MAC in QOS and in all cases the packets were prioritized as the default. However, when I set QOS to identify connections from the WAN IP of the router it works as expected. I want to tell QOS that any outbound connection that originates from the router itself should be a medium priority. There doesn't seem to be a way to identify connections that originate at the router OTHER than using the WAN IP. Since that changes on a regular basis, that makes it an unworkable solution. Shouldn't the WAN MAC work?
