QoS in WRT54GL

Noticed that the default linksys firmware has QoS on a WRT54GL. Yes, yes, there are other firmwares but I have been testing Thibor 15c and Tomato, both are stable but signal strength is always higher in teh default settings with the an older Linksys firmware. Plus, it rarely (if ever) needed a reboot. I need stability more than functions. So....

To give skype more bandwidth, can I just enter SKype's port in the QoS and give it Priority High under Applications & Games?

Also, my Skype out bound calling is doen on a wireless notebook. But I only see Apps that is under Wired QoS. Will this QoS tweak still help for a wireless connection?

Noticed that there is also Wireless QoS for WMM supported hardware. DO I leave thi son or off?

Again, a little confused why applications & games can only have priority setting inside Wired QoS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WMM is the QoS for wireless it is handled quite differently. I did do a guide on DDWRT firmware a while back about the settings on v23.

WMM support on the DD-WRT firmware

Wireless VOIP though will have a higher latency than over wired connections.

Hey thanks for the link Toxic. So in summary, even if I set the application under Apps & Gaming in the wired Qos section, this won't help my wireless Skyp out bound calling QoS?
