I have the Sveasoft Firmware installed (Alchemy-V1.0 v220.127.116.11sv). I have enabled QoS to try to fix some problems with the outbound side of my VOIP phone. Incoming audio sounds fine. But when I upload anything, my outgoing audio sounds horrible on the other end. So I enabled QoS and entered my upload/download rate at about 80-90% of what they check out as using Speakeasy's bandwidth tester. The problem is enabling QoS has slowed down my download and upload speeds, no matter what I'm doing. I can imagine the bandwidth test reading slower if I'm on the phone, since I've given highest priority to the SIP packets. But even when I'm not doing anything else over my connection, it runs slower with QoS enabled. My upload download speed without QoS is 3100/260. With QoS turned on, and 220/2900 entered as my upload/download speeds, a bandwidth test shows me only getting 2700/160. Turning off the QoS immediately brings the speeds back up to their normal value. Does this sound right? I does work to make my phone sound much better, but it signifigantly cuts down my bandwidth speed, even when I'm not using the phone. I was able to get the speeds back up by entering in 3500/350, but I doubt the QoS will be able to work very good setup like that? Thanks for any help.
