    Hello everyone,

I just recently read over the tutorial on how to use WDS to use a WRT54G as an access point.

First question, where do i find the Alchemy-pre5.2.2 v2.09.1.8sv firmware? Is it here on this site?

Second question, in that tutorial, the second WRT54G he was using was serving a wireless computer.

What I would like to do is as follows:

I have my first WRT54G connected to my cable modem, and connected to my upstairs desktop computer via an ethernet cable. A wireless Mac also uses the signal from this router.

I would like to add my second WRT54G somewhere in my basement, so that it receives the signal from my first upstairs router, and then connect two other computers to the second router via WIRED ethernet cables.

How does the tutorial change if I only want the second router to serve computers hard-wired to it?

Thank you in advance for you knowledgeable advice.

Alchemy is an old firmware probably not supporting most new WRT's now. your best bet is to use Tomato or DD-WRT and use the forums to see how these are setup for WDS

As Toxic mentioned - lots of posts on that topic. Search for "WDS" and for "Wireless Client Bridge".
