I made a post before about having trouble conntecing my WRT54G router to my WMP54G PCI wireless adapter card, but I was able to fix it by getting one of linksys's range boosters (awsome product). But now I have a new problem. When I enable 128 hex(or what ever) WEP coding on my router, my PCI card can find the access point but cant connect to the internet. Now I have to plug my range booster into my router ever time I change it from WEP secured to non secured, but It seems that my comp (the one im using right now) can only connect to the internet when I have no security on my router. I like that I can connect to the net, but I dont like the fact that everyone and their mother will be able to connect to my router if they are close enough. So my question is how can I keep my computer on the net and have security? Does WEP security have problems with PCI wireless cards? I have only tried the 128, I dont know if 64 (the one below 128 what ever it is) would do the same thing. Any help would be nice.
