    Hi all

Just got my new WAG54G. Still waiting for my telco to provide the DSL line, but in the meantime am using the wireless AP and LAN switch ports.

I can connect wired and wireless clients no problem (eg both my IBM Thinkpad laptop with built-in .11b wireless, and also my ipaq 5450 PDA), but I noticed that neither of my wireless client gets reported by the <Wireless Clients Connected> report button under the STATUS/Wireless page!

Similarly under WIRELESS/Wireless Network Access, the <Select MAC Address from Networked Computers> button gives me no information about any connected clients to choose from to fill in the MAC filtering table.

    Is this because:-

    1) I didn't use DHCP on the WAG54G to dish out their IP addresses.
    2) The wireless cards in the clients aren't Linksys?
    3) I've set something up wrong.
    4) I'm expecting too much that the reports should actually just work.
    5) My DSL service is not currently connected, so while the WAN interface is down, it's inhibiting this function?
    6) There's a bug in the firmware (I'm running v1.02.1, as supplied, out of the box).

Any clues? Is this a known bug, or does it need to be reported?

Finally, one thing I think would be a good feature to have is the ability to save our Configs (from what I've read, some people have to re-enter them on occasion! ;-).

Anyone know why this isn't a standard feature, or did I miss something bout how to do this? Haven't had a chance to play yet, but would turning on SNMP permit this, perhaps?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Sorry, it's 6)

I'm running 1.02.3. BETA, currently I'm seeing the clients but I remember also them sometimes not listed. But this was on an older firmware.

Config saving should with 1.02.3 BETA, goto Administration -> Backup & Restore

Anyway, the WAG54G is full of bugs (see other posts on this forum). btw, I reported an SNMP issue in April and Linksys support still does not know if it will be fixed EVER.

If your WAG is new I would try to bring it back to the store and get a Zyxel 660HW or a USR9106.

If you want to get the BETA firmware don't waste your time with Linksys support. Check - they have good knowledge and nice support. MUCH better than Linksys themself!

    Just my 2 cents
