Questions before mounting WRT54GL

    Hey people,

I've recently setup a WRT54GL running CoovaAP in a Comtenna enclosure, and setup with WorldSpot Hotspot access.

It's working great, but I'm about to mount the router up high on a poll to give the best signal, but before I do this, just had a few quick questions:

    1. The Comtenna is a 2.4ghz Antenna, which only has one antenna connector, so the question is, which of the two antenna's on the WRT54GL is best (left or right?). I was told the left one is best, but I'm thinking the right one is better, since there is less signal loss as it doesn't have that extra cable. Have taken a photo here: http://blog.akb.com.au/files/WRT54GL.jpg

    2. The broadcom chipset can get very hot when its running - does anyone have any suggestions about adding a heatsink to the chipset or some other way to cool it down, or should I not bother ? I'm running default power/mW settings, will it be fine? The holes I have circled, look like they could be used for a heatsink?:

    Thanks.
