    Hi All,

Lot's of questions, so here goes - there are a ton of posts already about this stuff, and i have been trying to sort thru it all, so i hope i can just get it all confirmed for peace of mind.

    1. Most posts seem to say they have the new airport express working with a linksys WRT54G. I have only seen 1 i believe stating they have it working with a wrt54gs. Has anyone else got it to work with a 54gs? Should i have any reason to believe it shouldn't work? I just ordered the gs, so i want to make sure i am OK here.

'by working', i mean 'wds' and streaming itunes.

    2. WDS cuts the available bandwidth in half right?

    3. I think i read that linksys has or is just about to release firmware that enables WPA in afterburner mode. Can anyone confirm this and confirm that they have it working?

    4. Is WDS mode and WPA mutually exclusive? ie if i use a WDS setup, you can't use WPA?

    5. I have seen one post where someone has been able to get the following working:
    - wds to extend the network
    - wireless streaming of itunes
    - use of the ethernet port to access the network - ie for an xbox.

Can anyone else confirm they have this 'ultimate combination' working? Should it be theoretically possible? It seems to indicate no on the apple site and documentation regarding the airport express, although it does seem to say that if you are using WDS (rather than just client mode); you will have access to the ethernet port also.

This is ultimately what i want to do (haven't got all the components yet, so i haven't tried it):
    - linksys wrt54gs as a wireless router (start point) in office
    - airport express as a wds (middle point) and audio streamer in middle of house (kitchen) repeating signals from the office and the other airport express (next point)
    - aiport express as a wds (end point), audio streamer and bridge to ethernet connection for xbox in living room.

    Is this all possible?

btw, there are conflicting posts on the need to use a 3rd party firmware version with the router or not. If i do use one, does anyone have any info or comments on which is the best to use with the linksys router? There seems to be a few.

    Thanks heaps,
