Randon WIFI disconnects, sometimes impossible to connect?

    Hello everyone.

I have set up a Linksys WRT45GL with Tomato Firmware 1.28. It is used in a hotel, to provide internet access (PPTP tunnel to the modem) for the LAN (with allowing LAN PCs to access each other) and for the WIFI (denying to communicate with the LAN and other WiFi PCs).

It is set up like in the PDF tutorial which I uploaded.

It all worked fine for a while. But recently, the guests notice random disconnects from the WiFi net. After short time, they're connected again. Sometimes, we can't even connect via WiFi. It needs a few Router reboots to get it working again. All this doesn't happen to the wired PCs, so I think it could be a DHCP problem.

Does the log.txt tell you anything?

For help i would be very very thankful!

I'd start w/running a few 'wireless surveys" (Under "tools"). and some "Noise Floor" tests (Device List>Noise Floor>Measure). Here are a couple of recent relevant links in this forum. -This "Problem" is not uncommon, and generally not the router or the firmware. In public usage area's, folks end up bringing in all sorts of gadgetry w/them. Then there is the question of just how strong a wireless user's signal (to and fro) is, even when things are normal. http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.ph...-disconnection-problem-revisited.34526/unread http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/router-stops-doing-wireless.34660/ GL

    Thank you for your answer!

Im not getting disconnects anymore for a few days now. I don't know if it was the "wireless survey" or "noise floor test" what helped me, but it seems to work better now. Yesterday there was another problem - not as usual, the wifi still showed up and i was connected, but i had no internet access.
After a restart it worked again. But im pretty confident that it will work better now.

    Again, thank you!
