Can the WRE54G be used with the WCG200? I would think so but it doesn't seem to say that anywhere. I bought one but can't get it connected with my AP. :(

The WCG200 is not a listed device for the WRE54G. The devices supported sent out a spanning tree code pattern and were modifed by firmwre updates to do so. I would take it back. The only devices supported are the WRT54G, WRT54GS and WAP54G.

Howard, how did you know what the 'listed devices' are?

I asked the same question of Linksys, regarding how to extend the range of my wireless network. They recommended using two WAP11's one cabled to the gateway, the other functioning as the AP (I guess). Does that sound right?

I'm trying a WAP54G now, and it does not seem to be working. Anyone have any experience trying to extend the range of their WCG200?

The listed devices that will work with the WRE54G is listed on Linksys' website, also, is listed in the instructions manual of the WRE54G. Also says so on the front of the box, on which routers it will work with.
