Hi, i'm currently running wifi-box on both my WRT54G's and I wanted to use the 2nd one as a range extender, right now i have them both configured the same so I can just re-scan and grab the one with the best signal without changing anything, I was wondering if I can configure it so it repeats the first one rather than being a seperate AP because I loose all my connections when I switch APs... I have both routers plugged in via ethernet... do I need to use WDS to accomplish this? if so do I need to switch to sveasoft to do so?

thats kinda of what I was looking for, I guess I wasn't specific enough with my post I have a set of firewall rules that apply to the wireless interface and a different set that apply to the wired interface, I needed to know within the router and the firewall that the packets were comming from the other routers wireless interface (it's not going to have any wired machines to it so any packets comming from the other router will be wireless packets) anyway after many hours I managed to get it working exactly the way I wanted it..
It works good too, can roam from one AP to the other automagically without noticing anything one drops off other picks up, pretty cool stuff :D
but thanks for the link anyway :)
