Hey, I have a Buffalo router running Tomato 1.19 and Modem set up in Half Bridge Mode with the router. I want to reboot the modem at say 8.00am every morning when I am not at home (its to do with ISP peak/off peak data and peak time changes at 8.00am.) At the moment I am using my own custom made script + a telnet utility which can only be accessed from LAN and it works great using the Scheduler Task built into windows xp but I have to leave my computer running until I get back home and then turn it off....I can use RDP from work but lot of time I forget to turn it off and its waste of power and $$$

was wondering if router running tomato can telnet into the modem and issue a reboot command every morning at a specific time? IP of modem is 192.168.0.10. I did had a look at the scheduler under Administration in tomato and it had the option of running a custom script. do not know what to write or even if its possible?

    thanks for any input.

Can you reboot the modem with a web page request? I think it would be easier to schedule a "wget" than interact via Telnet.

My Surfboard can be restarted with http ://192.168.100.1/reset.htm?reset_modem=Restart+Cable+Modem (remove space after http which I added to assure the entire URL could be seen.
